Dr. Inderjit Singh

Dr. Inderjit Singh

Veterinarian, Practice Owner

Growing up in a small village in Punjab, India, Dr. Singh got involved in farming and raising livestock at an early age. He remembers helping the vets whenever they visited the farm and wanting to be like them when he grew up. When Dr. Singh was 14, his pet husky, Rani, got sick. He rode his bike 20 miles to summon the vet, who treated Rani and put Dr. Singh in charge of nursing her back to health. Thanks to his round-the-clock care, Rani made a full recovery. Dr. Singh knew right then and there that working with animals was his calling in life!

Dr. Singh completed his high school education in India and went on to achieve his undergraduate degree in pre-veterinary studies. He rode his bike to and from school every day. He was one of over four-thousand applicants to one of the only veterinary colleges nearby and was fortunate to be one of only eighty students that made the list. Dr. Singh graduated number three in his class. In 1992, four years after graduating, Dr. Singh opened Luv-N-Care Animal Hospital.

Clinically, Dr. Singh has a particular interest in surgery and reproductive medicine. Over his many years of practicing, he has taken every opportunity presented to him to learn new surgical techniques and engage in specialized training. One area he excels in is orthopedic surgery. Since becoming a vet, Dr. Singh has built countless relationships with his clients and their beloved pets, and he feels honored to have made a difference in their lives.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Singh lives with his wife and their cat, Buddy, who was adopted from a shelter. Buddy is under the impression that his owners are his servants. In his spare time, Dr. Singh enjoys staying fit, visiting the gym, and playing the occasional game of golf.

Dr. Hailee Hobson

Dr. Hailee Hobson

Veterinarian, Medical Director

Dr. Hobson has adored animals for as long as she can remember. When she was a child, she loved to watch the cats play and she was inseparable from the family dog, a German Shepherd named Fritz. As Fritz got older, Dr. Hobson accompanied her parents to his medical appointments and discovered the fascinating world of veterinary care. She knew then that she’d found her purpose in life!

By the time Dr. Hobson reached the age of 12, she was already volunteering at a local animal shelter. Taking care of homeless animals and finding them homes solidified her interest in becoming a veterinarian. After graduating high school, Dr. Hobson moved to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota. While taking full time classes, she maintained three part time jobs as a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice, a dog bather at a boutique grooming parlor, and a home health aide at an assisted living facility. She doesn’t remember sleeping much, but she sure did learn how to multitask!

Upon earning her bachelor’s degree in animal science, Dr. Hobson sold her car and most of her belongings, packed up her three cats, and moved to the beautiful island of St. Kitts, where she spent three years studying veterinary medicine at Ross University. After completing the classroom and lab portion of her studies, she moved back to the US to do her clinical rotations at the University of Illinois. During that year, her job search thankfully led her back to somewhere warm, and she joined the team at Luv-N-Care Animal Hospital.

Clinically, Dr. Hobson enjoys performing ultrasounds, because they are a noninvasive, non-painful way to find all kinds of surprises patients can be hiding. The option to detect things early before they become potentially dangerous is invaluable. She also enjoys performing acupuncture. It is relaxing for both doctor and patient! Dr. Hobson loves offering this alternative treatment, especially for those patients that are unable to take certain medications to manage their pain.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hobson is happily married with four amazing children. Their fur babies include a lab mix named Jessie, who was rescued from a dumpster in Georgia; and a German Shepherd named Tendai, who was found as a stray with his mom and three littermates. They also have a lazy tuxedo cat named Archibald and a tiny long haired tortoiseshell cat named Bella. Their tankful of tropical fish is the main feature of their living room and although taking care of plants is not a strength of hers, Dr. Hobson somehow maintains a beautiful assortment of live aquatic plants that her fish love.

Not surprisingly, most of Dr. Hobson’s personal interests are related to animals. Now that she gets her fill of puppy and kitten love at work, she tries to spend any spare time she has going on adventures with her family! Together, they love to travel, visit theme parks, and try new restaurants. On the rare occasion that Dr. Hobson has alone time, she enjoys reading, knitting, music, working out, and trying out new recipes.

2025 Update: Dr. Hobson is board certified in Canine and Feline Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Earning Diplomate status is a rigorous achievement, requiring extensive clinical experience or residency, along with passing a challenging two-day exam, submitting case reports, and undergoing thorough review. ABVP, established in 1978, is one of the leading veterinary specialty organizations, certifying over 900 veterinarians worldwide across eleven specialty categories. Dr. Jennifer Lane

Dr. Jennifer Lane

Veterinarian

Dr. Lane attended Seminole High School in Sanford, FL, primarily because they offered a Health Sciences magnet program which included some veterinary involvement. She then attended Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Lane initially started out with a focus in equine medicine as she grew up caring for horses of her own but has transitioned to small animals and exotics with hopes of someday integrating the two in the future.

Clinically, Dr. Lane has a special interest in surgery and diagnostic imaging – particularly emergency cases. She loves the fast pace and quick decisions, which are incredibly challenging but very rewarding. Being able to provide quality care and comfort to creatures large and small is Dr. Lane’s passion, and it shows in everything she does!

Life outside the clinic is centered around Dr. Lane’s husband and their crew of four-legged lunatics. This includes six horses (Rio, Joe, Stetson, Whisper, Titan, and Monster) and three dogs (Losi, Kanga, and Bubba). Most of Dr. Lane’s free time is spent riding her horses, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Sierra Steger

Dr. Sierra Steger

Associate Veterinarian

For as long as she can remember, Dr. Sierra Steger has been drawn to animals. In fact, her first steps as a toddler were taken running toward her family’s Doberman. Growing up in central Florida, her home was always filled with pets—dogs, cats, birds, and even hamsters—and she quickly developed a deep connection with animals of every kind. By the time she turned 16, there was no doubt about her path. She took her very first job as a veterinary assistant at the clinic her family had always trusted, and from that moment forward, she never looked back.

Dr. Steger attended the University of South Florida for her undergraduate studies, all while continuing to work in veterinary clinics and gaining hands-on experience. Her journey into veterinary medicine officially began in 2016 when she started vet school in the Cayman Islands. She later transferred to the University of Georgia, where she completed her degree and proudly graduated in 2020. While in school, she discovered a love for surgery, especially after her time working in specialty hospitals where she gained experience with advanced procedures and complex cases.

After graduation, Dr. Steger began her career in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she gained invaluable experience across a wide variety of cases. Still, she felt a strong pull back home to Florida. At the end of 2022, she discovered Luv-N-Care Animal Hospital and immediately knew it was where she belonged. She officially joined the team in early 2023 and has been grateful to serve pets and families in her community ever since.

In practice, Dr. Steger’s greatest passion is surgery. She enjoys many types of procedures but especially values brachycephalic airway corrections and planned caesarean sections, which allow her to directly improve quality of life for both pets and their families. Beyond the surgical suite, she takes pride in her bedside manner, working closely with pet owners to create the best possible care plans and supporting them through every stage of their companion’s life.

At home, Dr. Steger shares life with her husband Shawn, their daughter, and two beloved dogs. Scarlet, her Doberman Pinscher and “soul dog,” is a gentle, affectionate companion who makes an impression on everyone she meets. Margot, their English Bulldog rescue affectionately called “Meatball,” brings humor, stubborn charm, and plenty of personality to the household.

For Dr. Steger, veterinary medicine has never been just a job—it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to care for animals and the people who love them.

Dr. Amrita Sumal

Dr. Amrita Sumal

Licensed Veterinarian

For Dr. Amrita Sumal, veterinary medicine blends two passions that have always guided her life: caring for animals and helping people. She grew up in the Lake Mary/Sanford area, where visits to Luv N Care Animal Hospital with her father sparked a fascination with animals and admiration for her uncle, Dr. Singh, who inspired her interest in medicine. By middle school, Dr. Sumal was volunteering at local shelters and rescues, gaining hands-on experience and learning that caring for animals is as much about compassion as it is about skill.

After high school, she continued to explore her interest in medicine and science, briefly considering human medicine before realizing her true calling was veterinary care. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, with her clinical training completed at a U.S. teaching hospital. While in school, she developed special interests in orthopedics, neurology, dermatology, and surgery. A formative part of her journey was her gap year before vet school, when she volunteered at Luv N Care and worked closely with the surgery team. Under the mentorship of Heather, a surgery technician, she discovered a deep love for anesthesia and surgical care, which would become a cornerstone of her practice.

Her education extended beyond the classroom. During college, she studied abroad in Kenya with her biology professor, assisting in ecological research and gaining unforgettable firsthand experiences with wildlife—including a close (and slightly terrifying) encounter with a hyena in the middle of the night. These moments reinforced her respect for animals in all forms, from beloved pets at home to creatures in the wild.

Today, Dr. Sumal enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but is especially passionate about cases where she can combine her medical knowledge with client communication to improve patient outcomes. She takes great joy in seeing animals recover and helping families feel confident and supported through their pet’s care.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Sumal is an avid athlete who enjoys rock climbing, yoga, lifting, and running. She has climbed outdoors at Joshua Tree National Park and keeps active at her local gym in Orlando. She also loves reading and traveling with her fiancé. At home, she shares her life with three cats—Nemo, Monkey, and Riki—who fill her days with humor, mischief, and companionship.

Warm, approachable, and dedicated, Dr. Sumal is proud to serve her community at Luv N Care Animal Hospital—the very place where her love of veterinary medicine first began.
